What would you like to learn?
French Knots Craft Studio offer a range of courses, learn to knit, sew, crochet and craft.All classes are small and aim to show you how to make something lovely and teach you skills that you can use at home to continue exploring your creativity. With friendly chat and plenty of cake to fuel your creativity you'll always have an inspiring class. Our belief is that while the hands are busy the mind is at rest, which in our busy lives is so beneficial.

All materials and refreshments are provided, together with guidance and instructions - all you need to bring is your enthusiasm.
 

 Cupcake Decorating

Learn how to use sugarcraft tools and techniques to produce stunning and stylish cupcakes. This class will show you how to:

-  make beautiful sugarpaste flowers using cutters, veiners and silicone moulds

-  pipe buttercream 'rose' swirls

-  emboss sugarpaste and create a create a domed top

-  embellish with lustre, pearls, glitter and sprinkles

All materials and 4 delicious vanilla cupcakes are provided and best of all you get to take home your gorgeous creations to eat ! £25 per person


Come and spend the afternoon together and make pretty cupcakes. You will learn to:

- make a sugarpaste plaque and use embossing techniques to create pattern and texture

- use a selection of cutters and moulds to make decorations and dust them with sparkly lustre

- pipe buttercream swirls

All materials and6 yummy cupcakes each are provided and best of all you get to take your lovely creations home to eat ! £25 per person

 





 
Handmade Christmas
Christmas is the perfect time to be creative, to make unique decorations and gifts. With a Gingerbread Man, Festive Lantern and a Patchwork bauble to make you'll get your Christmas off to a most creative start.
 
Crochet Snowflakes
Crochet a flurry of flakes, perfect for decorating the tree or making a garland, if you can chain and treble you'll soon have a White Christmas!
 
Redwork Embroidery
Using a few simple stitches create a beautiful Christmas scene, even if you have never tried stitching before you'll be able to create a beautiful picture to treasure. 
Last Minute Gifts
There's always a need for some lovely last minute gifts and stocking fillers so come and make yours - key rings, crochet bracelets and wooly hand warmers. And we'll wrap them too in a rather special way......
Impressive Patchwork
Patchwork is such fun, playing with colour and pattern. Learn the secret of macking this impressive patchwork cushion and impress your friends and family with your creativity.

  
Knitting Demystified
Learn how to cast on, knit stitch and purl stitch so you can join the A listers Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts and even Russell Crowe who all like to relax with a pair of needles! You'll be able to knit hand warmers, snoods, blankets and coffee cosies. Needles and wool are provided and you should have a cosy pair of hand warmers finished before the cold weather arrives.


Little Knitters
Encourage the knitters of the future with a simple introduction to knitting. With mini needles and colourful wool provided it's the perfect introduction to knitting.
 


Get Hooked on crochet
Come and learn the craft of the moment - crochet. It is enjoying a new found popularity as people discover how simple it cam be to create a Granny Square. You will learn several basic stitches as you make your Granny Square which can be made into a cushion or throw. A hook and a ball of wool are provided for you to take home but beware it's addictive!


A New Granny
You've mastered the traditional Granny Square and know your trebles from your chain, so now it's time for a new crochet design with a wonderful starburst centre.
 


Love your Sewing Machine
Bring your sewing machine and learn how to make the most of it, don't leave it in the cupboard getting dusty - come and make a cushion cover to get to grips with basic techniques.


Beautiful Brooches
Learn how to use fabric, thread, buttons, robbon and lace to make a lovely flower for your coat, hat or bag. Even if you've never picked up a needle before you'll be guidedthrough the process to make a brooch to be proud of.


Handmade Christmas
Christmas is the perfect time to create!Choose from a selection of unique decorations, make a Raggedy Wreath, a little Christmas Tree or a Paper and Twine Garland to give your home a touch of special Christmas magic.


Christmas All wrapped Up
Sarah is a present wrapper extraordinaire, she will share her wonderful ideas for making your gifts look beautiful this Christmas. Some simple but oh so effective ideas to make your presents stand out from the crowd.
 


Photography
Do you love taking photographs but get frustrated when they don't always turn out as you wanted? Professional photographer Jane Burkinshaw will show you how to take better photographs with your digital camera. There'll be no jargon just some practical tips and advice.


Bring out the Bunting
Bunting brightens up any room and makes a part perfect too. We'll make a string of jolly pennants to hang in your home. Don't worry if you don't have a sewing machine you can use one of my top of the range Pfaff sewing machines.
 


Cupcake Decorating
Heather will share her top tips and professioanl secrets so you can decorate her delicious handmade cupcakes with butter cream swirls and fondant flowers and butterflies. Master a piping bag and have a glittertastic time!

Time for another Granny Square to add to your repertoire? Feed your crochet addiction with a solid colour square with lovely lacey corners.

Patchwork is, rightly, very popular and is perfectly suited to making a unique and gorgeous lampshade.

How do you stop your fabric moving when you are trying to do applique? How do you applique letters? Come along and find out!
Hand sewn Hexagons
English Paper Piecing is a relaxing, traditional form of hand sewn patchwork, you'll learn how to make hexagons and transform them into patchwork for a vintage look
